London calling for thriving Oxfordshire construction company
An Oxfordshire building firm is set to double in size with major expansion plans in the pipeline.
The New Home Improvement Group (NHIG) will be opening a London base in the second quarter of this year as it looks to tap into growing demand for its services in the city from homeowners looking to refresh or extend their existing property.
Managing Director Darren Field said: “Our workload across Oxfordshire and the surrounding counties has been growing rapidly but recently we have seen more and more enquiries coming out of London.
“This move will take the business to the next level. Once established, I believe we can grow our presence strongly across London and the home counties as well as continuing our development further north.”
The new office which will serve the north and west of the city, will create 20 jobs with three crews available for projects, doubling the existing 20-strong workforce based in Lester Way, Wallingford.
And Darren is also planning to open a South London office early next year as he looks to make the most of growing demand.
NHIG was started by Darren from the garden shed of his home just three years ago and now covers Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and North and West London.
It specialises in garden rooms, driveways and windows and doors but its skilled tradesmen are just as capable of undertaking larger building projects and home renovations.
In the 2023/24 financial year, the business saw a 25 per cent increase in its turnover to £4.5m with similar growth forecast in the next 12 months.
Darren added: “The time is definitely right to drive our expansion into London. A home can be transformed by renovating and extending it and in many cases proves to be viable alternative to moving.”
