Windsor Welcomes First GreenSeas Trust Bin Installation: A Step Forward for Riverside Cleanliness
Marine conservation charity GreenSeas Trust is pleased announce the installation of a new waste bin along the River Thames in Windsor. This initiative highlights Windsor’s commitment to preserving the beauty of its riverside. The official unveiling will take place on October 23rd at 12:00 PM, opposite the Diamond Jubilee Water Fountains, featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by the Mayor of Windsor, Simon Bond, along with local councillors.
As a major tourist destination attracting millions each year, Windsor faces significant waste disposal challenges. The new bin, strategically located along one of Windsor’s most frequented walkways in a high-traffic area along the Thames, aims to help maintain the area’s cleanliness. The bin will encourage responsible waste disposal, contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable environment for both residents and visitors.
The GreenSeas Trust bin is the 21st of its kind in the UK currently, and the trust’s bins currently help prevent 9 tonnes of PET plastic bottles from entering our oceans each year.
GreenSeas Trust is a leader in environmental education, and this installation serves as a reminder of the importance of proper waste management in protecting our public spaces and natural surroundings. Projects like this aim to reduce litter and safeguard nearby ecosystems from pollution.
