Waterlooville restaurant crams whole roast dinner in a burger for its winter menu
A restaurant is putting its own twist on the classic Christmas roast dinner this year.
Koop+Kraft on London Road, Cowplain, is putting jazzing up it’s Christmas menu by offering a whole roast dinner inside a burger.
The festive burger is made up of chicken breast, a sausage patty, bacon rashers, stuffing brie and cranberry ketchup.
Founder George Purnell added the mix-up to the menu as he wanted to put a flair on a classic and cater for those who prefer to go down a less tradition dining route.
He said: ‘At Koop+Kraft were massive on our burgers, it’s our main offering, but we also love a roast on a Sunday, so it felt right to blend the two together and in true Koop style, got to work seeing what we could cram between two brioche baps.’
The limited-edition dish is also available in a wrap for those who prefer a lighter choice.
The restaurant is also serving up a full turkey roast dinner, complete with all of the trimmings, six days a week from now until the end of December.
Also on the festive menu this year is a range of Christmas cocktails, including the Biscoff Blizzard – a Bailey’s and caramel blend with Biscoff syrup and cream.
George said he wanted to go further than previously this year after such a tough year.
He said: ‘We wanted to pull out all the stops this year, having been closed last year and Christmas being so uncertain. I really feel that the Christmas spirit is stronger than ever this year and what better way to celebrate than over food.
‘There will be no guilt with our dishes, we all deserve to treat ourselves and indulge once in a while and now is the perfect time to do so.’
The restaurant-cum-cocktail bar will be opening for dinner on Christmas day this year, as well as New Year’s Eve when it will host a live music event.
