Award Nomination for Homeless Food Charity in Brighton
Sussex based food charity Saint Anne’s Centre has been nominated in the GWG People’s Choice award for their new website.
Every day up to seventy homeless, isolated and vulnerable people in the community are welcomed to Saint Anne’s Centre in Brighton, Sussex. Staffed mostly by volunteers and funded by donations, Saint Anne’s has been working with the city’s rough sleepers and marginalised residents for more than thirty years.
Saint Anne’s offers a safe, warm and welcoming space for all. Somewhere that people in need can drop in to eat, relax, find help and solidarity. Each weekday, the St Anne’s team provide breakfast and a hot lunch, alongside a place where talking and being around other people can help to break through loneliness and isolation.
In the midst of the pandemic, local digital agency White Rabbit Consultancy donated a digital strategy campaign and new website to support local homeless food charity Saint Anne’s Trust. Creating a responsive and mobile-friendly web design aimed at both service users, donors and related agencies. Including multiple online giving channels, social media integrations, as well as volunteer and trustee stories.
Following previous award accolades from the Web Guru Awards and the Witty Web Wizards – Website Design Awards, the new site of Saint Anne’s Centre in Brighton has now been nominated to win the Good Web Guide’s – People’s Choice award for 2021.
Mimi Spencer a Trustee at the charity said “Since launching the new website – we have definitely seen an upswing in donations large and small, often from people donating via the website’s various means to do so. The Amazon Wish List and Smile are definitely being used.”
“Users of the website love it! Our volunteers report finding it easy to access and use – and it’s a good way to get our messages out, particularly as it links to our Facebook and Instagram accounts. They seem to like the blog, and the FB versions of the posts get a decent response.”
“One of the best things about the new website is that it’s an easy way for us to broadcast what we do – it goes on to leaflets, on to emails, etc. – and we know that it is a great window on our world.”
“It was a pleasure to work with a local Brighton web consultant who really knows what a client requires. The whole process of redesigning our website was made simple, speedy and fun.” This award is judged entirely on public votes, so you can make a real difference by taking a few seconds of your time to add a show of hands for this fantastic cause.
