Half-term karting Race Academy launches for future racing superstars

Absolutely Karting in Maidenhead is launching a half-term Race Academy for youngsters in the local area who dream of becoming the next Lewis Hamilton.

Running between Monday 21st February and Friday 25th February, the Race Academy is open to 8 to 13-year-olds who will receive expert karting theory and practical tuition between 10am and 12pm every day.

At the end of the course, Race Academy cadets will take part in a graduation race on Sunday 27th February when they will receive an Absolutely Race Licence. The licence will enable them to take part in competitive Absolutely Karting events.

Matt Schofield, Venue Manager at Absolutely Karting Maidenhead, commented:

“The thrill of Karting is something that appeals to all ages and is how a number of F1 drivers begin. This is a fantastic opportunity for those who are really keen on racing to receive expert coaching and advice at a very young age. Tuition includes learning about the dynamics of the kart, race craft, safety aspects and advanced techniques.”

The half-term Absolutely Karting Race Academy costs £329. A free karting helmet, gloves and balaclava are included in the cost. Absolutely Karting will also launch a 6-week Race Academy course in early March. Places on the course are limited and can be booked by contacting Absolutely Karting.
