Stonham Barns Park Showcases Farming and The Countryside at Country Fair 2022

Stonham Barns Park, one of Suffolk’s premier leisure, retail and holiday destinations, is linking up with Suffolk Young Farmers for a day of activities designed to keep visitors entertained with rural pursuits and demonstrations throughout the day.

The brand-new Country Fair on Sunday 19 June will showcase all that is great about farming and the countryside including the legendary Tug of War Competition, a Digger Challenge, Trade Stands and food and drink stalls.

It has all the thrills and spills you would expect from a Young Farmers-inspired show, a fun family day out aimed at providing visitors with the opportunity to learn, experience, promote and celebrate all the great things that comes with living and working in Suffolk.  Run by the Young Farmers, the day will be filled with lots to see and do including shopping and sampling goods from a wide variety of local trade stands.

Says Janice Rowles of Stonham Barns Park, ‘Everyone loves a country show and this new one has all the elements of the farming fun that people will be looking for in a day out.’

‘It will give visitors a chance to get an insight into what young farmers do to relax when they are not working at improving their expertise in agriculture.  It’s for adults and children alike to come and get a glimpse of farming culture as it is today – including the skills that are needed to join the industry and the entertainment that can be had when you put the young farming community on show.’

Young Farmers are one of the largest rural youth organisations in the UK dedicated to young people aged 10 to 26 who have a love of agriculture and rural life.

Suffolk Young Farmers have 9 clubs made up of members from across the county, who have a unique opportunity to develop skills, work and their local communities, travel abroad, take part in a varied competitions programme and enjoy a dynamic social life.

Being part of this day gives visitors the chance to get involved in the education, promotion and benefits of the rural community and see first-hand what Young Farmers is all about.

Camping is available at Stonham Barns Park for those visitors who want to make the most of the rural weekend show.
