Anglia Components inks exclusive agreement with UK custom battery pack specialist.

Alexander Battery Technologies names Anglia as its first distributor

Anglia Components, the UK’s leading independent authorised distributor of electronic components has signed a distribution agreement with Alexander Battery Technologies (ABT), a UK manufacturer of custom battery packs for high end applications.

Anglia is the first distributor that Alexander Battery Technologies has appointed and will become their exclusive distribution partner in the UK & Ireland. ABT offers customised battery packs for OEM customers, including Lithium-Ion, NiMH, and primary battery solutions. Markets served include medical, power tools, communications, test, defence and robotics. The company holds ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 approvals to support medical applications. The agreement gives Anglia customers direct access to ABT’s advanced custom battery pack design and assembly service and will be supported by Anglia’s technical teams who have been trained on ABT’s full capabilities.

Commenting on the partnership, Mark Rutherford, Managing Director at Alexander Battery Technologies, said, “We thought carefully before taking the step of appointing a distributor as our custom approach makes our solutions difficult to present effectively to customers, however, Anglia have demonstrated that their technical team is fully capable of providing the high level of support required. In addition, they have an outstanding customer reach with technical and sales support which is second to none. We’re really looking forward to seeing this exclusive distribution deal flourish.”

John Bowman, Marketing Director at Anglia, added, “We are excited to be partnering with Alexander Battery Technologies. The ABT engagement allows us to extend our support to customers who have specific battery packs requirements, such as removable battery packs and those used in harsh applications that need to be more robust. Furthermore, the company’s ISO 13485 medical approval enhances our capabilities to assist with medical designs.”

Alexander Battery Technologies designs and assembles all its battery packs, including the Battery Management Systems, in the UK.
