Red Loft launches first phase of homes at the Jazz Yard in Walthamstow
Since being named as one of The Sunday Times’s best places to live in 2021, Walthamstow’s property market is on a continued upward trajectory, with the average price for a home now listed at £536,348 – a 14% rise since its last peak in 2017.*
Property consultancy and first-time buyer agent Red Loft has launched the first release of 10 private sale homes at the Jazz Yard, a brand-new development in the heart of E17.
Named after the ‘Jazz Service’ steam train that ran from Liverpool Street to Chingford in the 1920s, the Jazz Yard will ultimately consist of 83 one- and two-bedroom homes, a mixed tenure community of 46 private sale apartments alongside 17 for Shared Ownership and 20 social rent homes.
Architecturally eye catching, the elegant red façade is a mixture of textured, glazed and coloured bricks, reflecting the area’s industrial history. New residents will benefit from a brand-new communal podium roof garden, complete with play zones, relaxation areas and landscape gardening as well as an NHS Health Centre on the ground and first floors.
Wendy Hegarty, Partner at Red Loft, comments: “We are delighted to support Sixty Bricks with their launch of a brand-new development nestled in the popular neighbourhood of Walthamstow, where property prices have risen considerably over recent years.
The first collection of 10 private sale homes is available for Help to Buy, offering an opportunity for first-time buyers to get a slice of life in this property hotspot, and enjoy living close to both a vibrant high street as well as a plethora of green spaces.”
Sixty Bricks Chief Executive James Briggs comments, “Sixty Bricks is proud to develop the Jazz Yard scheme which supports the Council’s priorities to invest in new, high quality health facilities and social rent homes for the local community”.
Homes at the Jazz Yard have been designed to offer clean, contemporary interiors complete with integrated appliances, perfect for busy young professionals to move straight in. Contemporary Howdens kitchens are fitted with Indesit dishwasher, fridge-freezer and washer-dryer, as well as a marble effect worktop and soft touch doors and drawers. Delivering the latest tech, apartments are complete with Sky Q outlets plus fibre optic provision. Every home has access to a generous private balcony and secure communal bicycle storage.
Enabling residents to enjoy an active lifestyle, a linear park runs adjacent to the development whilst the Lea Valley and Walthamstow Wetlands are both less than a mile away. For cycling enthusiasts, the Jazz Yard is ideally located for accessing the Mini-Holland cycle route.
As well as the abundance of green spaces, Walthamstow is famed for its vibrant cultural scene. A short walk from the Jazz Yard is an array of quirky pop-up stores, music festivals, studios and restaurants as well as the legendary Walthamstow market which is now Europe’s longest outdoor street market. For weekend trips, nearby Crate St James is an exciting business community for creatives, retailers and food outlets, whilst at the William Morris gallery in Llyod Park residents can discover the works of an iconic English designer.
Hitting the mark for commuter transport links, St James Street station is located next door to the Jazz Yard, providing superb access into Central London, with regular services into Liverpool Street in under twenty minutes. A ten minute walk away, Walthamstow Central is serviced by the Victoria line, meaning residents can access Oxford Circus in just twenty minutes.
Part of a wider partnership with Sixty Bricks, the London Borough of Waltham Forest’s wholly owned development company, the Jazz Yard is the second of three sites for which Red Loft has been appointed to manage the sales and marketing.
Prices for homes at the Jazz Yard start from £420,000 with Help to Buy available. Shared Ownership homes will be coming soon.
