Housebuilder raises £15,000 for Kent-based children’s charity We are Beams

Bellway Kent has donated £15,000 to a children’s charity based in the county.

The money for We Are Beams was raised at a charity golf day held by the housebuilder in Bearsted and will help the charity with its work providing comprehensive support to disabled children and their families living in Dartford, Gravesham, Sevenoaks and the surrounding areas.

Services offered by We Are Beams include family advice, short breaks and after-school clubs.

Luke Cashin, Fundraising Manager for We are Beams, said “We are thankful to Bellway for this incredible generosity. As a charity that supports disabled children and their families, the outstanding £15,000 donated from the golf day will ensure our vital care services continue to be accessed by those that need it the most.

“We thank everyone involved, and for continuing to make such a positive contribution to local disabled children and young people. “

Mark Harrop, Sales Director for Bellway Kent, said: “It is a key part of our ethos as a housebuilder to help the communities in which we are building homes.

“We Are Beams provides a vital service to families in Kent and we wanted to show our support for the work the charity does.

“We are pleased to have raised the sum we did, thanks to the generosity of everyone who took part in our golf day, and we are proud that the money will make a significant difference in supporting disabled children and their families.”

Bellway Kent held the charity golf day at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Tudor Park Country Club in Bearsted in October. The event comprised a series of golfing rounds followed by an evening event of food and entertainment and money was raised through entry fees for the golf teams, a raffle and an auction. In total, over £30,000 was raised, which was split between We Are Beams and Bellway’s national charity partner, Cancer Research UK.
