The industry-recognised Menopause Friendly Employer Awards 2024 are open for entries. Organised by Henpicked: Menopause in the Workplace and The Menopause Friendly Accreditation team and powered by headline sponsor Peppy, this year’s Awards event will welcome TV and radio presenter Lisa Snowdon as its host.

Returning to the Royal Lancaster Hotel on Wednesday September 11, the Menopause Friendly Employer Awards will see 450 people in the room celebrating the achievements of trailblazing organisations and individuals going above and beyond to support menopause in the workplace. Meanwhile, hundreds more are expected to join remotely from online virtual parties across the country. The Menopause Friendly Employer Awards 2024 is a celebration with a purpose, as it aims to raise £75,000 for menopause charities and causes through ticket sales, sponsorship and donations.

Joining Lisa Snowdon on the red carpet will be sponsors – including Peppy, Boots and the No 7 Beauty Company, British Airways, Mars, the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and Vitabiotics – alongside exemplary employers and individuals whose actions and activities are changing the lived experience of menopause in the workplace.

“I’m very honoured to be hosting the Menopause Friendly Employer Awards and looking forward to joining this uplifting event and recognising the phenomenal impact menopause friendly employers and individuals are having in the workplace and wider society,” says Lisa Snowdon. “Having struggled with debilitating menopause symptoms that laid me low at work and home, I find it hugely encouraging to know menopause friendly employers are paving the way for others to have more empathy, understanding and support. I can’t wait to share the stage with such inspirational people.”

Open to all Menopause Friendly Member organisations and their employees, the Awards will be judged by the Menopause Friendly Independent Panel against a set of clearly defined criteria.

The 2024 Menopause Friendly Employer Awards include:

  • Menopause Friendly Employer of the Year
  • Most Inclusive Menopause Friendly Employer
  • Most Open Culture
  • Most Menopause Friendly Working Environment
  • Best Engagement Approach
  • Best Trained Workforce
  • Best Peer-to-Peer Support
  • Most Supportive Partner
  • The Carolyn Lazarus Award for Best Individual Contribution

“We are delighted to step up as the headline sponsor for the Menopause Friendly Employer Awards 2024 as we believe it’s vital to recognise and support the changemakers,” Max Landry, Co-Founder, Peppy. “Working closely with many Menopause Friendly member companies to support their staff, we see first-hand the positive impact being menopause friendly can have on individuals and organisations. This will be our third time at the Awards and I know we have a terrific evening ahead of us!”

“When I had the idea for the Menopause Friendly Employer Awards in 2022 I really didn’t know what sort of reception we’d have,” says Deborah Garlick, CEO and founder of Henpicked: Menopause in the Workplace. “I needn’t have worried – the event took off really quickly and this, our third year, is promising to be another night to remember with employers ready to submit their entries. Quite apart from the event recognising the achievements of amazing employers and individuals, it also seeks to raise money for deserving causes working to help people affected by menopause. The last two years’ events raised £75,000 each – I’m hoping 2024 will top that!”
