‘London is Our Classroom’… DLD Students Immersed in Sensory Challenge
Students from DLD College London, a pioneering independent school, have taken their learning beyond the classroom during an educational visit to a unique immersive experience, SENSAS.
Firmly reinforcing the multi-award-winning college’s mantra, ‘London is Our Classroom’, Year 13 BTEC Business students recently embarked on a multi-sensory journey at the Vauxhall-based attraction. The students had the opportunity to experience the unsuspected power of their senses as they took on a variety of challenges.
Throughout the interactive activity, the DLD students were put to the test when participating in several tasks which required critical thinking, strategy and leadership to solve – a key learning of their BTEC course, preparing the students for the world of business. They collaborated successfully, with an element of healthy competition, to reach the end goal.
Irfan Latif, Principal at DLD College London commented: “At DLD College London, we are incredibly lucky that our iconic location in the very heart of this vibrant global city lends itself to a 21st-century education. There is a multitude of opportunities for cultural enrichment and learning for our students right on our doorstep, and as a college we work hard to ensure that our students get to experience the best that London has to offer – London is Our Classroom.”
A school of diverse thinking and influences, housed in a futuristic building with cutting-edge facilities opposite the Houses of Parliament, London is DLD’s classroom. Students aged 13 to 19 are offered the opportunity to study a wide range of GCSEs, A-Levels, BTEC courses and International Foundation Programmes (IFP). It also offers an Academic Preparation Programme (APC). In addition to several significant national award wins, DLD College London is also proud to be named by Tatler magazine, Good Schools Guide and Talk Education as one of the top schools in the UK.
DLD College London provides a ‘gold standard’ of educational quality. It is a school where students are respected, supported and honoured as individuals. Where they are immersed in the best possible environment to grow as successful and independent learners; where their vision can be made a reality, and where as happy and healthy people they feel free to make a contribution to the world around them, both now and into the future. The school’s beating heart is its award-winning wellbeing centre.
