Barratt David Wilson Homes Kent’s senior team are flying high this summer, having completed a skydive in support of children’s charity, Demelza. The team has now raised a jumping total of £66,192 for the charity, which has been chosen as Barratt David Wilson Kent’s ‘Charity of the Year 2024’.

Nine members of the Barratt David Wilson Kent team, including Sales & Marketing Director Natalie Perry, took part in the skydive retreat at ‘GoSkyDive’ in Headcorn, Kent. The skydive was arranged to actively raise funds and continue its support for its chosen charity of the year, Demelza.

Having previously donated £15,000 to Demelza last year, all donations from Barratt David Wilson Kent will continue to aid the charity’s Kent facility, based in Sittingbourne. Demelza provides outstanding clinical care and emotional support to children facing serious or life-limiting conditions, and their families. Services include day care, short breaks, family liaison and sibling support, creative therapies, memory making and, when the time comes, end of life care and bereavement services.

Natalie Perry, Sales and Marketing Director for Barratt David Wilson Kent, comments: “The team and I are so proud to have partaken in this skydive and are thankful to all those who have sponsored our efforts. This being the second time for me, I know how daunting the idea of skydiving can be, but it is rewarding to know that our efforts will support Demelza and their Sittingbourne Hospice which is close to our developments. It has been so wonderful to have supported the charity over this past year, whose expectational efforts have provided such vital support to thousands of children and their families across the southeast, and we look forward to continuing our support.”

Laura Smyth, Deputy Director of Fundraising and Communications at Demelza, adds: “Congratulations to those who took such a brave leap for Demelza! 86% of our funding comes from our generous supporters and we couldn’t do what we do without you! As we reach the halfway mark in our partnership with Barratt David Wilson Kent, funds raised by the team continue to help us support children and families in the local community at every step – from first diagnosis and for as long as we are needed. Thank you.”
