UK screening provider becomes an official Living Wage Employer
Vero Screening accredited as a fair employer by the Living Wage Foundation
UK employment screening provider Vero has been officially recognised as an employer committed to paying its staff a real living wage.
It means Vero will always pay its staff a rate based on the true cost of living, as opposed to the national minimum wage, following accreditation by the Living Wage Foundation.
Vero Screening, is a market-leading supplier of outsourced employment screening services with a global reach, offering an innovative, service-orientated and user-friendly approach to clients in 200+ countries.
Its accreditation as a Living Wage Employer comes in recognition of its 253 members of staff and the crucial role they continue to play in the ongoing expansion and development of Vero on a worldwide scale.
Rupert Emson, CEO at Vero, said: “It is a simple fact that a business is only ever as good as its people, and we truly believe in the people we work with here at Vero. We are nothing as a company without their support and dedication, and are committed to improving upon the wellbeing of all those who choose to work with us in return.”
“We also recognise the responsibility we have as a key employer, both for the South East and in the UK generally, in working to improve upon our quality of life as a society and the effect providing a real living wage can have on the wider community in general.”
Established in 2006, Vero Screening’s mission has always been to provide expert knowledge, excellence of service, and world-class employment screening to fit the needs of businesses across a wide range of industries.
As well as experts in background checks and employment screening, it also has specialists in compliance, human resources, digital technology and more working from its base in Brighton, West Sussex.
Katherine Chapman, director of the Living Wage Foundation, said she was delighted that Vero has joined more than 9,000 UK employers in voluntarily committing to go further than the government minimum, and ensure its workers earn enough to live on.
Katherine said: “Introducing a real living wage is not only the right thing to do as an employer, it makes great business sense too. We know that it increases both employee motivation and retention rates, improves relations between managers and staff, and helps employers reputationally too.”
“Most importantly, it represents a long-term investment on the employer’s behalf towards its employees and their overall wellbeing, and it is a great testament to Vero as a company that it has chosen to join our pledge as an accredited member of the Living Wage Foundation for all of these reasons,” she said.
