Abri secures land to provide 17 homes in Guildford
A new development of 17 sustainable homes is being proposed for Gomshall, Guildford to include a mix of tenures including affordable and open market sale homes.

Abri, one of the south’s largest housing providers, has exchanged contracts to purchase land on Station Road in Gomshall with detailed planning permission.

The designs for the new homes will incorporate features including electric car charging points, solar panels and additional insulation to lower their carbon footprint. The proposals include 13 affordable homes which will be one and two-bedroom flats available through shared ownership and four, three-bedroom open market sale homes. The homes will be built by Abri’s inhouse construction team and will start to be built from autumn 2022.

Andrew Ball, Land Manager at Abri said: “Acquiring land in desirable locations helps us meet the housing needs of local people and the community by providing a mix of houses and affordable options for home ownership. A proportion of the homes are for open market sale which means we can reinvest any profits to continue to build more affordable homes.

“Abri is committed to building at least 12,500 new homes by 2030 and by utilising our inhouse construction team, we can not only make sure the homes are of the highest quality but also sustainable long term.”
