Attic Self Storage, the independent, award-winning self-storage service provider, announces today that it’s expanding across London with new site acquisitions in Morden, Barking and New Southgate. This follows the success of its current locations in King’s Cross, Bow, Marylebone and Harrow, as well as the upcoming launch of its Beckton facility. The new facilities based in North, South West and East London will help to meet the growing demand for flexible storage space across the city.
The Morden facility is set to provide the local community with 90,000ft2 GIA of self storage. The site will have nine self-contained apartments. It will launch alongside the Barking facility in 2024, while New Southgate will launch the year after.
The Attic service offering is customer-centric, digitally led and includes app-controlled electronic locks with 24-hour access All new sites are built to BREEAM Excellent standard or above, offer enhancements to biodiversity and EC charging points and are fed by solar panels designed to generate more power than the sites consume to ensure that sustainability is the forefront of development.
The demand for flexible storage space by domestic users continues to grow, with 44%* of people in London revealing that they don’t have enough storage in their homes.
At the heart of Attic’s brand values is a commitment to support local communities and good causes. This has included ‘a Beauty of Beckton’ initiative to raise money for Richard House Children’s Hospice by working with local students in the area to showcase their favourite landmark of the area, as well as a ‘Hand Me Downs’ campaign last year at all sites to support children across London. Attic will continue this ethos at all new sites.
The company also reveals that the Enfield site, located on the A10, and acquired in late 2021, will be incorporating art studios into the facility, as part of a community focused zone to help with the provision of affordable space for local projects
CEO, Frederic de Ryckman de Betz, comments: “We are excited to expand our service across London with the new acquisitions in Morden, Barking and New Southgate, following our Harrow facility recently winning the SSA ‘Independent Store of The Year’ award. These acquisitions bring us one step closer to achieving our goal of delivering 1 million square feet of premium self-storage space to the London market in the next five years. We are looking forward to working with local stakeholders to integrate our facilities seamlessly into the local communities.”
