Kick-start a career at top performing hospital trust as a healthcare support worker

– Recruitment day at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust on 20th August –

A leading hospital trust wants to recruit healthcare support workers to join their friendly nursing teams and is inviting people interested in a healthcare career to attend a recruitment day at Maidstone Hospital on Saturday 20 August from 9am until 3pm, where they could walk away with a job.

Healthcare support workers play a vital role in providing excellent care to patients, including helping patients with social and physical activities, personal care, mobility, meal times, booking appointments etc. as well as taking patient observations, including temperature, pulse, respiration and weight[i].

The recruitment day is hosted by Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust (MTW). Joining the Trust as a healthcare support worker is an opportunity to learn and develop acute care nursing skills, in a fast-paced, high patient turnover environment. No qualifications or experience are necessary as full training is given.

Attendees must be available for the full day and should arrive at 9am for a presentation that showcases the Trust’s specialities and the different career pathways.

They will also be invited to a selection process, which includes a group discussion, basic literacy and numeracy assessment and a practical exercise of learning. Successful completion of the assessments could mean people leave with a job offer.

Richard Gatune, Deputy Chief Nurse at MTW   said, “The recruitment day is a chance for people to meet colleagues and find out what the role entails and what it’s like to work at the Trust, plus they could be offered a job on the day. We’re looking for individuals who want to begin their healthcare career, return to work after a break or change careers from another sector, and encourage people to join us for the day.”

The recruitment day takes place in the Academic Centre at Maidstone Hospital, Hermitage Land, ME169 QQ 20 August from 9am until 3pm.  People interested in attending should register here by 18 August. The salary range for the role is £18,870 to £19,918 a year pa pro rata.
