Residential care home in Tunbridge Wells sold for the first time in 35 years
Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of Beulah Lodge Residential Home in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
Beulah Lodge is a 21-place family-run residential care home located in the heart of Tunbridge Wells in Kent.
Previously a home for boys, it was bought at auction by the Histed family in 1987. Later that year, they renovated the site and opened Beulah Lodge, and it has remained under the same family ownership until recently, when they decided that it was time to retire from the sector.
Following a confidential sales process with Christie & Co, the business has been sold to BLTW the owners of which also operate Crest House in East Sussex.
Speaking on behalf of the Histed family, Rebecca Lince comments, “We approached John Harrison from Christie & Co to advise the family on a discrete sale of Beulah Lodge as we wished to retire. We are delighted to have now sold the business to BLTW which successfully operates a similar sized care home already.”
Ilker Djavit, Director at BLTW, comments, “We are delighted to have bought Beulah Lodge after searching for the right care home for some time and are excited about continuing the strong reputation which Rebecca and the team have built up at Beulah Lodge as a successful family-run business by using our experience in the care sector.”
John Harrison, Director – Healthcare at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, comments, “I’m very pleased to have been able to assist the Histed family with their retirement plans after operating Beulah Lodge in Tunbridge Wells since 1987 and to have been able to find in BLTW a care home operator which already has experience of successfully running care homes in the South East. We are continuing to experience good demand for care businesses in this region.”
Beulah Lodge Residential Home was sold for an undisclosed price.
